During
our afternoon flying displays you can fly the birds for
yourself. During this time you would be able to fly a selection
of six birds from the following, depending on the time of
year and the weather.
Cookie,
our Kookaburra;
Snoopy, Indian Eagle Owl
Inca, Peruvian Striped Owl
Laysha, Brown Wood Owl
Buzz, Eurasian Buzzard
Elsa, Harris Hawk
Indi, Boobooks owl
Mottley, Mottled owl
Moccadoo, Spectacled Owl
Cleo and Patra, Southern White-faced Scops Owls.
The
afternoon flying is divided into two parts; the first session
is out in the field, flying free from tables to your gloved
hand, along the stream, and on long flights from corner
to corner.
After
a tea break, the second session is in the Medieval barn,
flying three amazing and special owls who use every corner
of the barn, and the beams as if they were the canopy of
the rainforest. These are our 'Rainforest Owls', during
which there is a short music and slide display of the South
American rainforest, its destruction and what we can all
do to help.
